 Mahoney
opens season with a sixth place finish
It took three attempts but the 2009 Southern Ontario
Sprints season finally saw the green flag. After rain
washed away May 9th and May 16th dates Brighton
Speedway rescheduled to Sunday May 17th.
For Warren Mahoney it
was a good start to the year. The #25 started in third
in the second qualifying heat and raced his way to the
win. From there the 'Wiley One' started 4th in the
main event. He would eventually slip to 6th and finish
the night just the one spot out of the top five. All
in all it was a problem free evening and a good start
to Warren's march towards his record-tying third SOS
Championship.
Warren and the #25 team will look to add to their
solid start as the Southern Ontario Sprints head to
South Buxton Raceway on Saturday May 23rd for Round
#2. Race time in Merlin, Ontario is 7pm.
