three finish leads to top three in SOS standings
The Southern Ontario Sprints returned to the Brighton
Speedway for their third visit of 2009 on July 11th.
For Warren Mahoney and the #25 crew it was a chance to
make up points after a rough outing in June.
The night began well
as the 'Wiley One' finished 4th in his 8 lap
qualifying heat. The finish secured him a 7th place
start in the main event.
The 20 lap feature
event was plagued by an early caution which saw
Warren's father Dick involved taking the #79 out of
competition. As the race wore on Warren passed cars
and worked his way to a third place finish. Adam West
won the race while Rick Wilson finished second. The
third place finish moved the #25 team into third in
SOS points just 20 points behind point leader Justin
Martin.
Warren and the #25 team will continue their 2009
campaign as the Southern Ontario Sprints head to
Ohsweken Speedway on Friday July 17th for Round #5.
Race time in Ohsweken, Ontario is 7:45pm.
