| The
2001 Southern Ontario Sprints Champion has made his
mark as a major threat to for the 2006 title. After
four races the #25 sits second overall just two points
back of leader Glenn Styres. The solid standing comes
after a double header weekend of great success.
On Friday night the
SOS brought 43 cars to the Ohsweken Speedway. Warren
was fast right off the trailer and won his heat race.
Come feature time it would be Chuck Hebing who would
run away with the checkers but the battle for second
between Warren and Adam West was what everyone was
watching. They diced back and forth for several laps
before the #25 would grab the runner up position for
good.
The SOS then moved to
the Brighton Speedway for a Saturday night show. 28
cars made the trip east and once again Warren Mahoney
was a threat. A fourth place finish wasn't what he had
hoped for in the heat but by the time the 20 lap
feature was over the #25 was third behind winner Rick
Wilson and second place Glenn Styres.
The #25 team will
return to action on Sunday June 18th at the
Humberstone Speedway for round number five of the 2006
Southern Ontario Sprints tour. |
