The Southern Ontario
Sprints were back in action Saturday night at the Brighton Speedway. The
event was the second trip of the season to the 1/3 mile clay oval and the
third event of the 2008 tour.
Already in just three events this year Warren has flexed some muscle and
shown that he is going to be one of the top drivers to beat every week.
Again he unloaded fast and went out and won his qualifying heat. He
then went on to win the Rowley Electric Dash for Cash setting himself up
for a good run in the main event.
In the 20 lap main event
Warren would start on the outside pole. He would be a threat all
night to win but was unable to hold back the charge of Glenn Styres.
Styres went on to win the race and Rick Wilson made a last corner pass on
the 'Wiley One' to finish second. In the last two races Warren has
finished second and third respectively and finds himself now just 28
points out of first place in the standings in fourth.
Warren Mahoney and the rest of the Southern Ontario Sprints will be back
on the road on Saturday June 28th at the South Buxton Raceway and Sunday
June 29th at Humberstone Speedway. For more
