The Southern Ontario Sprints
made their final visit to the South Buxton Raceway on Saturday night and
for Warren Mahoney he probably wishes they had a couple more stops at the
D-shaped oval.
Warren was fast off the
truck and made first note of that in his heat race. He started at
the rear of the 8 lap qualifier and drove all the way up to second in the
closing laps. He then backed up that strong running with a second in
the SOS Dash for Cash.
Come feature time Warren had
his work cut out for him. The #25 would have to start ninth in on a track
that was rough, dry and slick. Passing was going to be a tough task but
the 'Wiley One' worked his way towards the front with every passing lap.
When the checkers flew it was Adam West taking the win but not far back
Warren Mahoney was working on third. At the line Mahoney snuck ahead of
John Riegling for the spot. With yet another solid night Warren has now
moved into third in points just 65 markers back of leader Glenn Styres and
just 29 points behind second place Kevin Job
Warren and the Clintar
Groundskeeping Services team return to action on Friday August 10th at
Ohsweken and Saturday August 11th at Brighton. For more information log on to http://www.southernontariosprints.com
