Mahoney made the trip to the Ohsweken Speedway on
Friday night to compete in the Sprints On Dirt tour
event at the 'Big O'. In a rare start with a
club other then the SOS, Warren was fast off the
truck. Mahoney paced the first heat and claimed
the checkers in his Clintar Ground Services #25
beating out Cody Geldart to the line. He went on
to lead the opening pair of laps in the star packed
A-Main. The car did fade away late in the race
and the team settle for a 12th place finish.
With the competition on hand being somewhat comparable
to the season ending Canadian Sprint Car Nationals
this was a good sign of things to come for the Lefroy,
Ontario driver.
This weekend the team
heads to the Brighton Speedway for the SOS Labour Day
Classic Weekend. It will feature a pair of races
on Saturday and Sunday night for the Southern Ontario
Sprints. Race time on Saturday is 7:30pm while
Sunday is a 6:00pm start. |
