Rain showers delayed the
start of the Southern Ontario Sprints Championship Invitational at
Ohsweken Speedway on September 7th. The track officials however were determined
to work the track in and make sure the title was decided on the speedway.
Warren Mahoney entered the
night just 7 points back of leader Glenn Styes. The night started off well
for the 'Wile One' as he finished second in his heat race claiming 11
crucial points. Styres however would come out in the following heat and
win to increase his lead by another point.
By feature time Styres was
playing it safe and running well up front. Mahoney was solid at the start
but problems on the #25 ended all hopes of a second straight title. Warren
would end up with a 12th place finish and 2nd overall in the 2007 SOS
Standings.
Warren and the Clintar
Groundskeeping Services team return to action on Friday September 14th and
Saturday September 15th for
the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals at Ohsweken Speedway. For more information log on to
